The Tale of a Common Man
Have you ever felt purposeless........ Have you ever felt Hungry?!
I never dreamt of a day when I would be on the streets neither did I think that my pockets would be empty. With shabby clothes, I walked the roads with people looking at me uncannily. I never understood how looking at others that way made them feel until I was in that position myself.
I couldn't beg for obvious reasons like my pride. I thought of every way I could earn money but I was too young for any. "No Food and No Shelter" these were just words to me until that day, I never thought of them to be precise nor did I think about what the people who were experiencing those words felt.
I stopped to think about my past by then cause I understood there was no use dwelling in them. I wanted to take the right steps but with no one there to guide me, I was just a frog in a well.
And so my life was........It had been 2 days since I ate anything and so I sat down at a corner of a road. I kept staring at a pizza shop across the street, That was when I saw her and without my own knowledge, my true story began. She was just sitting in the shop eating a pizza. The thought of how beautiful she was crossed my mind but I thought of what I had to offer her in this state of mine, where I was bearly able to stand up on my own two feet (and I mean that literally). She didn't even know that I was looking at her.
I stayed there all day but never saw her come out. The next day when I woke up I started shouting loudly cause that's what happens when you don't have anything to eat for 3 days. That was when she saw me, and I felt happy that she at least looked at me but, now that I think about it I feet pathetic.
She rushed out and asked me what was wrong and I told her that I didn't have anything to eat for the past 3 days. I thought she would just leave me be and go back when she ran back into the shop but she didn't, which anyone but me would have guessed. She ran back with a pizza in her hand and any foul thought that was in my mind about her was gone cause I started to feel grateful.
Now, this was a new feeling to me cause I may have felt thankful in the past but I never felt grateful. And of course, I ate the whole thing without leaving a trace. I didn't know how to express my gratitude to her so I just thanked her. What I didn't notice was that her father was staring at us from the shop.
